uncertain of certainty
we live in a world where we value certainties over uncertainties. definite reachable goals are established, and we work towards those ends. once reached, goals are reoriented or new ones established. this is all in the pursuit of accumulation. accumulation of assets. accumulation of knowledge. accumulate of skills. accumulation of stories. accumulation of experiences. accumulation of friends. we never stop to question what drives this proclivity to accumulate. prestige perhaps? comfort? or maybe we just want certainties. certain that we can. certain that we are the person we imagined ourselves to be one day.
in a world that is structured around this proclivity, where education, careers, and family life are institutionalized to guarantee certain certainties, we must resist.
why?
because there is too much adventure, excitement, and happiness to be found in a life of uncertainties. and maybe if you let go your real dream will find you.
